Choice of modality
- CT of abdominal aneurysm is indicated in case of suspected rupture or imminent rupture, such as by pain and a palpable abdominal mass. For the abdominal aorta specifically, see CT of abdominal aortic aneurysm.
- Ultrasonography of abdominal aneurysm is generally the initial modality of choice in a non-emergent setting.
