CT angiography of the head for stroke:

Evaluation

In addition to a basic screening of a head CT, evaluate:

  • Thick slices of major vessel of the cerebrum and cerebellum for contrast defects.
  • Thin slices of at least the carotids as they pass through the skull, for focal occlusion or stenosis.
