Physics
As a general radiologist, the necessary MRI physics is that the patient is exposed to particular magnetic fields, making different types of organs and tissues return different amounts of electromagnetic signals. Different settings, or MRI sequences, give various amounts of electromagnetic signals in return, and can be chosen in each case to optimally depict the condition of interest.
